Lacey Green Singers excel with West Wycombe Brass Band
I have to say, to be truthful, that I felt proud to be from the little village of Lacey Green when I heard the quality of singing at our Singers' joint concert with the West Wycombe Brass Band on Saturday 2nd April. Audience and singers clearly pleased and grateful for the influences of Cathie Kaye since she became the Singers' conductor. The atmosphere I sensed in the audience was most enthusiastically appreciative.

The band is presumably more acquainted than our Singers with the "church with the gold ball" on the top of the hill at West Wycombe. There had been no rehearsal at the Church, so our Singers had their first experiences there on the night. It was also somewhat unfair, I felt, that the Singers were further away from the audience than were the Brass Band. Despite this, we heard the singing very well. Our Singers and their hosts, West Wycombe Brass Band, all amateurs after all, can be proud of their performance. If you weren't there, you missed a heart-warming musical experience.
