Magic of the Musicals
Having postponed our 'summer' concert due to lack of rehearsal time, it was not appropriate to hold it at Piggots Barn in October, so the village hall was the venue for The Magic of the Musicals - and what a great success it was. The hall was bursting at the seams with not a chair to spare. The program started with songs from 'West Side Story' and finished with a medley from 'Les Miserables', and in between, songs from Lloyd Webber classic ' Phantom of the Opera' and lighter moments with songs from 'Meet Me in St. Louis', 'Singing in the Rain' and 'The Wizard of Oz'. Many members of the choir gave small solo performances, which made it a very "home grown" occasion. The audience also played their part by joining the choir in Edelweiss, which sounded great. All in all, a wonderful evening of song, followed by a glass of wine and a chat with friends, a very social occasion.
